Make sure your phone and TV are on the same Wi-Fi network, open Cast to TV and tap to scan, then pick your TV. Choose a photo, video or web page — or start screen mirroring — and it appears on the big screen. Some TVs ask you to confirm the connection on-screen the first time.
Check that both devices are on the same Wi-Fi (not a guest network), that your TV is turned on, and that network/device discovery is enabled on the TV. Restarting your Wi-Fi router and re-opening the app usually helps. Some TV brands or models may not be supported.
Many streaming services protect their video with DRM and block casting and screen mirroring of that content. This is a restriction set by those apps, not a fault in Cast to TV. You can still cast your own photos and videos, web videos, and mirror most other apps.
Casting sends one item — a photo, video or web page — to the TV while you keep using your phone. Screen mirroring shows your entire phone screen on the TV in real time, which is great for apps and presentations.
The app works with many popular Wi-Fi–connected Smart TVs (such as Samsung, LG, Sony, TCL and Roku). Compatibility and available functions can vary by brand, model and firmware, so not every feature works on every TV.
Casting your own photos and videos and screen mirroring work over your local Wi-Fi network. An internet connection is used for web videos, ads and analytics.
The app is free and supported by ads. There are currently no in-app purchases or subscriptions, so there's nothing to cancel or restore. If paid features are added later, the price will be shown before you buy.
If a consent prompt appeared when you first opened the app, you can decline personalized ads there. You can also reset or opt out of your Advertising ID in Android via Settings → Privacy → Ads. Clearing app data lets the prompt appear again.
Your paired TV and settings stay on your device, and the app accesses only the photos or videos you choose to cast. Because the free app is ad-supported, we use Google Firebase, Google AdMob, Adjust and the Meta (Facebook) SDK, which process limited device and advertising identifiers. We do not access your contacts, SMS or precise location. See our Privacy Policy.
Clear the app's storage (Settings → Apps → Cast to TV → Storage → Clear data) or uninstall the app to remove your paired TV and settings. To request deletion of any data held by us or our partners, email us and we'll respond within 30 days.
Send us a message and we'll get back to you within 1–2 business days.
